HOMEPAGE

"I went to your lawyer who is a she, but she's going to/ went to France this morning and will be back 21 May to handle your appeal 9:30 sala 406, appeal ct. ul. Chopina 1. Will you be there? I don't know but I'll e-mail you the information. So there it is. Legally you could still have the U S Embassy request that they give me the copies. I assume they'll accept your "barer" letter."

Now, asides from how obviously egregious the courts over bullshitting about getting copies of the court session is, this lawyer is, I assume in Ms. Irena Krzaczek. I assume that this is so because Ms. Krzaczek was the fourth of four attorneys aiding and abetting throughout my ordeal. And, I say I am assuming because I have not heard a single word from Ms. Krzaczek since the court, in a great flourish of literary license decided against any sense of reason to declare me guilty over a year ago. This great distance of space and time since the decision is obviously a sign of Ms. Krzaczek’s ability to fight for my rights and the line about being in France until the day of my appeal is also pretty much straightforward Polish to my ears.

Now, I would like to make this clear: I don’t want this woman. I have no belief that she will do anything but harm me. Can you understand this? She doesn’t work for me, won’t speak to me, has never even represented herself in a professional manner in any way regarding this case, has hung up on my friends during routine phone calls, and as far as I can tell, seems to enjoy being exactly that much of a... well, I’ll leave that word out. It’s a good word and it translates rather easily to Polish, but I will restrain myself.

So, what I am saying is that this is all still rather dubious. Ms. Krzaczek’s presence at this time is rather an insult and worse than anything, I am feeling like I would need to be there just to control her from offering my neck to the noose or declaring that I had said something I never had…

Now, I tried to write about how she treated me in the book, and I will try my best to do so here. When the court told me that Ms. Krzaczek was to be my lawyer, I called her via my friends in Ostrow to talk to her about the case, offer the papers I had accumulated and give her the line of argument I was interested in pursuing. But after shielding herself from our calls for two days, we finally decided to lie as to who we were and remarkably enough, that ws enough to get us past the secretary. However, Ms. Krzaczek then decided to tell us that without ever having read any of the documents, she was fully aware of what she was going to say to the courts, told us that she in fact had no e-mail (lesson learned from Marcin Borus no doubt- press “HERE” to see a rather disturbing bit of double talk first hand) and then promptly hung up on us.

But I think what was even more disturbing was that she stood up in court and all but agreed that I was the bad guy bin this and that the reason for my behavior was something about my pining to return to the states…

And then, after the verdict was read, the woman actually lied to me and did what she could about preventing me from writing my own appeal. You get this? She lied and then berated me as if I had done something wrong in the process. …I wanna use that word again… and I am thinking I want to add an adjective to it as well...

What the hell am I supposed to do? I write the bloody appeal, I write like… what, a million words about what the hell is going on, make it all bloody public, and they retain this assassin to come and rip it all apart for me. The appeal was to be a written document. I said all I have to say in that document about how I felt about the case and how I was treated. I don’t wan this woman speaking for me. I don’t trust her. I wouldn’t let her write the appeal for me, and I had to go through several gyrations to keep her away from me, and no you tell me that she has in fact been my attorney all along?

Folks, DO NOT EVER, EVER, EVER GO TO POLAND!!!!! Do you hear me? You do not have to go. If you want to come to Russian or Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania- or Belarus- all great places with great people and cool languages and culture and everything, there is a really super, super, super boat that goes around Poland directly from Kiel, Germany. You never have to set foot in the place and waste your money on a really boring, and evil place. They steal your money there, get it? Don’t go!!!! Do… Not… Go!!!!!!!

Now I got more letters I have to write….

Tanya and I have got a holiday for a few days and are going to put some stuff in the ground. Egor has been invited to play in the regional tournament this weekend also, and Paul is, supposedly coming to Pinsk some time today as well…

So, all of this and more in a couple of days…

More soon
